Healing the World through Vibration

These are my buds from CT. They have been traveling the nation and setting up their gongs...They begin with an explanation on vibration, intention and positive thinking. Then they work with everyone individually in an easy lesson on ringing their own Tibetan bowls. Following that, each participant in turn, sits in a zero gravity chair with a pair of Mindfolds, (a special blindfold) where they give them each a blast of full immersion in the "Gong Chair." To describe the experience in words does not do it justice.
The gong at the feet is tuned to the frequency of the Earth, which restores balance and has a grounding effect. While the gong at the head, is tuned to the frequency of the Sun. This is a mystical sound we like to call the "Sound of Creation". Other planetary gongs as well as Antique singing bowls and tingshas are used during each individualized session.
Water makes up 70% of our physical form, which allows the frequencies and vibrations of these celestial realms to travel through our bodies in a rippling effect. Once you are in the chair, the vibration and sound melt away tension and put you in total state of comfort and relaxation. This allows your body, mind and spirit to tune itself to its own natural frequency.

Your Perfume is Killin Me...Really!

17 best-selling fragrances were tested, and found they contained an average of fourteen chemicals not listed on their ingredient labels because a loophole in federal law allows companies to claim fragrances as trade secrets. 66 percent of these "secret ingredients" have never been evaluated for safety, meaning we have no way of knowing what they'll do to our health.
Perfumes contained an average of 10 unlisted chemicals each that are associated with:
allergic reactions like asthma, wheezing, headache and contact dermatitis
an average of 4 chemicals known to be endocrine disruptors, which impair normal hormone development and have been linked to a range of health issues including sperm damage, thyroid disruption and cancer.
Bear in mind that we're lacking good studies that show definitive links between perfume use and rates of cancer or other serious health problems, but the President's Cancer Panel just issued a 200-page report saying the link between toxins in consumer goods and cancer has been "grossly underestimated."

Preventative health care, home remedies, and reaching the Black community

This has been a topic I have been addressing for the last 4 years or so.
I moved to an inner-city residence and became one of the founding members of a cooperative.
It was good for a while, but it felt as if I was preaching to the choir. People from miles around, and even other states had heard of this natural holistic place and came for the food and the exchange of ideas.
The people who lived around the corner and up the street had no idea who we were and what this place was all about. I moved slowly from that space to a space of teaching.
It has been a wonderful 4 years of teaching and learning. To be able to explain what e-coli is and how it is spread and other social health issues of the day(H1N1, viruses, etc.) I am really reaching people that need to learn, and hopefully they will then educate the ones around them.
Teaching about our health, how to prevent disease, how to take care of our body mind and spirit, in a holistic natural way is the way I see our health care evolving.
As our ancestors used what was in nature, we are now understanding the power of creating remedies from simple home recipes.
We are now in the season of Spring and with the pollution and the wind whipping through the city, many of us feel the pollution, whether it triggers an asthmatic attack or an allergic reaction of sneezing, watery eyes and painful sinus cavities.
The first thing we can do, is Spring cleaning! All the dust and signs of Winter in our homes and cars need to be removed. We can't do much about an inner-city environment, so I have some simple remedies that will help you get through this season.
There are many vegetables and herbals you can get at your local grocer : ginger(you can make a tea, squeezing with hot water and local honey(local honey gives your body immunity against environmental pathogens),garlic, onion. You can use spices like cayenne or black pepper, chili powder, turmeric, cinnamon, cumin, cloves and herbs like parsley, rosemary thyme and oregano, again add this into something that is hot, like soup, to infuse into the water, that will quickly heal your body. These herbs and veggies fight infections and are antiviral.

Use eucalyptus, tea tree and peppermint aromatherapy oils(click on my link for these oils http://astore.amazon.com/bodyseaso-20 ) to help loosen mucus and heals the throat, nasal passages and helps to relax the bronchial tubes. You can do this by inhaling the vapors using a few drops on a cotton ball, or use an aromatherapy diffuser. If you like baths you can take a 20 minute hot bath with 10-15 drops of each oil. In the shower you can put the same amount of drops in a 1/2 cup of carrier oil, like olive oil and take 5 minutes to rub onto your body before you get into the shower, be careful not to get in eyes or any open body cavity as it will burn, if this happens use lots of water to flush.

Season of Spring ...How to Crawl out of your Winter Shell

I teach Asian theory and their way of medicine. As the seasons change, so do our bodies.
I am now teaching classes about Spring and how this season is effecting our bodies/minds/spirits...
So lets start with the organs in our bodies that are effected by Spring, they are the gallblader and liver.
These organs process the toxins we built up through the winter, so to assist with detoxification, the quickest way is through the skin. A good workout, sweating in a steam or sauna or if you don't have access to that you can sit in a hot tub for 20 minutes with 10-15 drops of each pure essential oil.
The oils of grapefruit,

 palmarosa,

 and cypress

These oils help to stimulate and tonify the gallbladder and liver.
The emotion of gallbladder/liver is anger. So if anyone you know has a liver or gallbladder condition, you may see signs of unreasonable anger. Handling your emotions are just as important as your diet, exercise and environmental conditions. If unable to do so, the body will suffer. So here are a couple of tips on how to understand the emotion of anger and help control it:
Deep Breathing, Use self-talk to calm yourself , Imagery – Visualize a calming place or experience and Stretch shake off the negative body memories
If you are unable to do this on your own, or if this just doesn't seem to help, you may have to reach out into the community of healers that deal with emotional issues. Sometimes all you need is a safe place to embrace and understand this emotion, once you understand what it is, its easier to let it go.

Buy a Tea, Plant a Tree!

My other other passion is seeing the shift in conscious consumerism. I will be posting and afilliating myself with companies that I believe in. It is so hard in this day and age to do all the right things. There is always someone there with their hand out. Even if you want to do the right thing, there are companies that will tell you they are conscious when they are "green-washing" their image.
I tend to do more research than most when it comes to herbal, body care/skin care because it is my other other other passion... so to honor these companies, there will be a post every day on the ones that I love for one reason or another.
Today I am posting a link to "The Art of Tea"  a company that has been awarded by the World Tea Expo, Tea Association of America and Specialty Tea Institute the 1st and 2nd place award for the Best Tea in America. They are conscious about Fair Trade and USDA organics. Thats all great, but the part I love is giving back to the planet, replacing what you have taken from the Earth.
Here is a great promotion. Get some great tea and do your part in taking care of our Mother.

Sweet Elixirs.....

Even though Valentine's Day has come and gone, its a good idea to make every day, a day for love.
For yourself and for others.
Here is a recipe for my favorite homemade chocolates.
It always makes me feel loved and I tend to make this for my family and friends around the holidays...
I use organic pure essential oils of lavender to create the sensuous blend between flowers and chocolate. Enjoy!

16 oz bag of organic semi sweet chocolate chips
2 drops of organic pure essential oil of lavender per 4 oz of chocolate
1 tablespoon of grapeseed oil
1 pinch of sea salt

Use a double boiler, pour 4 oz of chocolate at a time.
Stir as the chocolate bits completely melt, take off stove and add 2 drops
of lavender p.e.o. and stir in 1 tablespoon of grapeseed oil and a pinch of
sea salt.

Use a candy mold (I use my heart molds <3 ) and a teaspoon to scoop as
chocolate is warm into the non sprayed molds.
Put into freezer for 15 minutes
They should easily pop out onto a plate to enjoy
or
you may put them in a clear baggie with a big purple
bow for someone you love

Anyone who loves chocolate will find the taste
of the floral(lavender) and the sweet creaminess of the
dark chocolate an odd but stimulating combination....
